Our History

Innovative Computer Courses is the first licensee of Academy of Learning, an international organization specializing in computer and business skills training for adult learners. Academy of Learning was founded in 1987 in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada. Since then, more than 100 franchised colleges have opened worldwide. In addition to the United States and Canada, licenses have been granted in Australia, Saudi Arabia, and the West Indies.

ICC was licensed in early 1997 in Lynn, MA. In 2000 we moved to Salem, expanding our facility to 65 computer workstations to better serve our students. In 2008 we relocated in Saugus, Ma. to better serve the demand of student in the Boston area. ICC has taught thousands of courses and graduated hundreds of students back into the workforce in their chosen careers.

At ICC and Academy of Learning, we fulfill the needs of individual learners by developing customized programs for each student, providing convenient and effective training at an affordable cost. We offer a unique solution for learning that fills the gap between formal education and the realities of the workplace.

The ICC and Academy of Learning approach shifts the focus away from teaching in the traditional lecture format to an on-site, facilitated, learning-by-doing method. This allows us to offer both short, effective certificate courses and comprehensive vocational diploma programs.
